Teach me about the 5.0

Well, I'm looking at a 93 lx with the five-oh motor, if it's not too bad, I probably will pick it up.. Just looking for some basic info since I'm a mod motor guy and don't know too much about these motors..

So come on guys and learn me something.. [8D][8D]

well first off it has hypercrap pistons so they dont like boost or spray very much. other than that its a good car

Possibilities are quite endless, after you junk the block and start over (j/k) you can have tons of fun with them. Fox bodies are the only Mustangs I have ever dealt with except for a build for a freind with a mod motor, but I will never do that again[8D]

I mean, I want to turn it into a nice little weekend car, but I'm only a broke college student, so it'll be a long slow process..

What size is the rear end in these things??

I have been building mine on a college student salary also. Whats good about the 5.0's is there are parts everywhere, just look in teh forum classifieds and you can find some good deals. Almost every part on my car came from the forums/ebay

Yeah... do like me, I have built my car for 2 years now... I drive my POS daily and make weekend adventures with my mustang, Much like you will be doing. Once you start modding your 5.0 you will realize how much you hate your 4.6
