i'm fixin to go get some head gaskets for my heads (gt40ps), and was wondering if i should get gaskets for a 98 explorer, or for an 87 mustang. i'm not sure if they are all the same.
also, will the gaskets for the lower intake-->heads work regardless. i bought ones for an 87 mustang.

just go to the parts store and ask for 98 explorer gaskets and then ask for mustang ones and compare part numbers if they're the same you'll be okay the short blocks should have all the same water jacket locations

everything will be the same except the intake gaskets (lower intake gaskets), the GT40P heads need either the ones for the exploder, or early 351w gaskets that have the "doglegged" shaped water passages.
