i was starting to clean up the engine bay on my car today before lunch, and was cleaning some gunk off one of the heads, and found a sticker underneath it. the sticker had all kinds of diagrams or writing or something on it, but what caught my eye was the fact after all the writing it had the spark plug gap numbers listed for a 5.8, as far as i ever knew my car had the stock 302 and the stock heads. would the heads from a 5.8 fit a 5.0? i dont understand, help please, why would someone do this, or is it just the valve covers from a 5.8 maybe. Yes the heads from a 351 will fit on your 302. Why someone would do that? Bigger valves and better flow. It is a common thing, but it would only sound right that the person you bought it from would tell you that they swapped out the heads. Where exactly on the engine/heads/or valve covers was this sticker?? Passenger/Driver side??

well to make along story short i was screwed on the car when i bout it a few years ago, the guy lied about a lot of stuff, so i doubt he would have told me anything about the head swap. any way, the guy was using the car for drag racing: no ac, power steering, and the guy said he was to, anyway...the sticker is on the driver side head at the back of the engine. i'll try and take a pic if i can borrow a camera.,

Maybe they're not just the 351 heads, maybe you have a 351!! haha.. What a pleasant suprize! Yeah, get a pic of that, I would like to see it.

i don't want to sound dumb or anything, how would i tell? i probly haven't driven the car more than 110 miles since i got it, its been parked for three years, 100 before it was parked and 10 since then. the first 100 were before i had money, or a tune up, and the last 10 were takin it back and forth from the shop down the road with kinda ify brakes so i havent got on it hard, i know it will kick sideways in second at about 25 but thats about all really.

Well there was a post on this a few days ago, how to tell the diff between a 302 and a 351. The intake manifold on a 351 is noticably wider than that of a 302. Find a picture online of a straight on 302 shot, then compare it to your car. Is your fuel injected or carbed? What year is it again?

its an 86 gt, efi, the intake has a 5.0 ho thing on it though, but if the guy was street racing like he said, maybe he put that on there incase someone looked under the hood? haha, thats me dreaming, but anyways, i'll take a pic and look at some too.
