2.3 swap to 306
About 4 years ago i bought a 91 foxbody lx from SC. The car was in great shape, perfect for a swap. I got a hold of a freshly built 306 with forged pistons, Ford Racing E303 cam, the usual for sprucing up a tired motor, and a rebuilt AOD with a trans-go shiftkit and a B&M 2100 stallconverter. My dad bought an 8.8 rear end with 3.08:1 gears,and when it got to the house we discovered it didnt have 4 lug axles, it had 5. Which was great except i didnt have wheels for it. I was far from putting wheels on the car anyway so i just let it go for the time being.I found some SN95 hubs and spindles for the front and they bolted up nicely, as well as the rear end my dad had bought. I was talking to one of my buddies from high school (my old science teacher)and he had mentioned that he was selling the wheels from his own mustang which was a 1998 GT, it had the 17" wheels i liked. Soioffered him $300 for the set. The next day my car had a new pair of shoes. I was looking on Ebay for the longest time for adark greyinterior to put in, and I finally found one. Brand new. the car it came out ofhad only about 500 miles on it but had been fatallyhit (for the car) on the side forcing this guy to part out his car. i paid about 500 bucks for everything, (seats, headliner, dash, door panels, center console,rear1/4 plastic, etc) minus the carpet. so i stripped everything out of my car put the new dash and wiring in with an A9P computer,followed by the engine and tranny, and the exhaust (which was a set of Mac shorty headers, Mac H-pipe with highflow cats to make it legal, and Flowmaster American Thunder mufflers). To make it stand out a bit i added a GT spoiler(which was a pain in the butt bc of all of the holes from the lx spoiler), patched up the holes, and then took it to the paint shop.I had it painted a metallic dark grey similar to the new ford grey. When i got it back it looked amazing. I finished putting in the rest of the interiorI put new headlights in with clear corners and super-white bulbs, and silverstar turn bulbs. Later i added a BBK coldair intake, and a MSD coil. Let me know what you think!
