My 8.5 inch rear wheels and 7.5 inch fronts are in the mail, 2 more weeks, I think Im going with 255's in the rear, I heard thats as big as you can go without taking out the quad shocks.

I'm running a 10.5" (266mm) wide slick on the rear of my '88 on 15" x 8" wheels with the stock offset but I did remove the quad shocks for clearance. if you decrease the offset, you can run a larger tire but it will stick out from under the fenderwell more.

Look in any MM& Fast Ford mag under drag radial class and you will see cars with 325 size tires on it.
I myself have only been able to fit as big as 275 45 17 bfg drag radials with no quad shocks and a little pursuation with a hammer.
I will soon fit those 325 size tires inside my fender. I love being a fabricator...

255 is the biggest with quads and no rubbing?

Will there be a lot of wheel hop if you have stock control arms and you remove the quads?
