Default What is this part????

I noticed that the piece in the picture marked isnt tight, its loose and can be moved, what is its purpose? is it supposed to be sealed tight??

it's nothing...you can pop it out if you want

it's a plastic cap covering a plug similar to a freeze plug in your block

Are you saying you can wiggle the bottom right side of your upper intake? If so, that delivers air into the combustion chambers and it needs to be sealed tight. Somewhere around 17-20 ft lbs.

looks like someone made a homemade drain plug for oil buildup in the upper plenum. that should definantly be sealed off atleast with rtv sealer.

Never seen that before on the intake. Looked like he was using black to show what was loose. Something they used on the earlier 5.0s?

oh sorry bob, i forgot i just woke up one day and said snap, i think i will build myself a mid 12 sec car all motor with no more than top end mods. common bob im 31 years old ive been around a few also, just dont remember seeing that. it just seems like they would not have put something like that on there for something to be introduced into the intake easily if it come loose.
