Default Gears for my stang

Hey everyone, I did a 5.0 swap this winter, but didnt swap the rearend. It's a hurtin' unit now, and the gears suck hard. I found a 8.8 with new brakes, seals, and a set of 3.73:1 gears in it. Would a 3.73 gear be too much RPM for the "highway" (60mph) with my C4? The car is just for once and a while, and the track.Thanx for any help

3.73s will not be too much for your car on the highway, youll feel a good power increase although it doesnt increase numbers. I would do 3.73 or 4.10s

I have a 5 speed tranny in my 94 gt I was thinking about going with 4.10s would this be a bad thing to do according to the last posts that it overheats the tranny

Don't go 4.10's. Not worth it. With a 5 speed, the biggest I would go is 3.73. 4.10's are just a bit much.

I drive to work once a week, and thats a solid hour of driving. Is that too much run time for the tranny? Would a tranny cooler and fan help with the heat??? Thanx for the help!
