Lucky you, I hate that light. Whenever it comes on I have to fix it. It bothers me to know my car is sick

I have a code 33 with my simulator. I thought that without code 33, it would be more likely to get a computer controlled spark advance and cause detonation.....not really sure, just what i heard.

If you allow the valve to work normally, w/out any exhaust gases being injected into the combustion chambers, the EEC will add spark advance to compensate for the inert gases based on the EVP rate of change, and cause detonation......any EGR failure code (31, 32, 33, 34, 35)...will cause the system to bypass/delete the EGR function, shut it down, and not add the EGR based spark advance "addition" to the spark tables.

So since I have a speed density car without a CEL, I didn't need a simulator? Hmmm. Lots of bad info being spread around but Joel knows his stuff.

Thanks for the input guys, I will jump on getting this taken care of tomorrow. On another note, if you're standing in front of the car, behind the passenger side strut tower there is a series of vaccum lines/sensors. I have 2 white hard plastic vaccum lines that are broken, are these EGR related?

You can take the EGR Valve right off?? and do what? block it with a plate...I guess i'll leave it on there for now, because I have an e-test coming up, but my car is idling weird and I was thinking that might be the problem, so maybe i'll just eliminate it.
