Default MAF?

Okay, I have a 1989 mustang gt convertible. My only mods are BBK cold air induction, BBk headers and o/f h-pipe, and flowmasters. I want a new MAF, but I don't know much about them. Basically tell me all about them. I need help deciding size, brand, etc. Please help.
Thanks

Well I do not have a MAF car but I do know a but about it. Basically your car has a Mass Air Meter that is calabrated to factory 19 lb injectors I am not sure how many mm stock is, but it is totally useless going to a bigger MAF unless you change out the EGR spacer, and intake to a larger MM bore. And that usually does not gain any HP unless you need more air to your engine. For example if you installed a pair of heads and upper and lower intake with some high ratio roller rockers your engine will need more air to deliver it MAX HP. Stick to your factory on unless you are planning on going with some mods

Wrong, the reason for this is that your MAF is only calibrated to 58MM while your TB and spacer is 60MM after 1988. So increasing your MAF to say a 73MM will greatly increase air flow through your engine, thus creating more power. If you have an 86-88 then the MAF is 58MM as well as your T/B so there is no big gain off of a bigger MAF.. T/B's and spacers are quite inexpensive especially off of ebay, get a new T/B, Spacer, and MAF all at the same time, under 300 bux, and a huge increase in power and response.

If you are keeping the stock TB, then the TB is not going to allow anything more than 60MM, but if you even upgrade to a 65 or 70MM, the 73MM will still provide adequate air flow... I would go with the 73, it is better for your app, and will suit your needs nicely.. Let me know how it goes, I am doing the same thing.
