Maybe I Don't Need To Rebuild The T-5?
I'm pretty sure it is the synchros, but i remember awhile back my tailshaft seal was leaking for a long time until i finally got it fixed. Any chance i could be low on transmission fluid that could cause it to grind?

it might have helped cause it yes... but chances are, depending on how long you drove w. low fluid... your syncros are gone... possibly because of the fluid problem
fill that bitch up to where it should be, and test drive it...

I agree...test it out. You can drive a tranny w/ worn synchros for a long time, you will just have to rev-match it when you shift or let the rpm's drop. I seriously doubt the fluid will fix the issue.

I didn't put the tailshaft seal in, a friend of mine did and i didn't think about it because i really didn't know much then. But he's a good mechanic and probably put it in.
Where in the hell is the place to put more tranny fluid in? I thought you had to take it to a shop to get any kind of service on a manual transmission

It will be on the pass. side of tranny. There is a plug at top and one at bottom. A 3/8 inch ratched will fit. Yes, just the ratchet, nosocket. You will see when you get under there. It would be wise to spend 18-20 bucks for a manual, it will pay for itself 1000 fold.
