breaking in new rear end bearings???

Default breaking in new rear end bearings???

when i bought my tru trac i also ordered the bearing kit. it sayed to run the car with out any hard starts for 25 miles, then change the diff. oil!!??

how many have heard to change the differental oil after 50 of break in?? becuase i really dont want to do that after its all back together.

If that is what they said, then do it. I have always changed mine 50 miles after any diff. work. Just take the cover off and let it drain. There might be 14-16 bolts, i cant remember small details, remove old gasket or material from cover and apply a bead of rtv around the whole thing and i always do a circle around the bolt holes. Bolt it back up and refill it. The fill plug is on the drivers side near the top.

When I did mine, I didn't. Put about 200 normal miles on it and went to the track and beat on it. No problems.

Dont need to change it. I didnt when i put in my 410 and a guy who does them everyday at a transmission and differential shop said dont even worry about. Fluid doesnt get all that hott or dirty like engine oil and the metal from wearing in new gears is minimal.

You guys drain your oil after a gear change, there will be some small shavings.

i did not change gears but i did replace everything else. thanks for the input, i guess ill just sack up and do it the right way. hahaha
