Default NEW HEADS OR NOT

Ok i have a stock bottom end 5.0 302 and want to know if i redo the factory heads and port them if it would be worth it or not i have a Edelbrock Performer intake with spacer, under drive pullys,no ac or smog,msd 6al box plus blaster coil , plus a high flowing exaust. i can get the heads done cheap cuz a friends dad owns a speed shop

I wouldn't go through the hassle of taking off the stock heads to put them back on. Check here, or corral.net,stangnet.com, or racingjunk.com to find some nice used after market head.

Find some gt40 or gt40pheads at least there cheap and in your budget, you can find them all over ebay and have those redone.

E7's are junk their not worth porting. If you look around you can get a nice set of used aluminum heads for a decent priceor if you have a low budget get GT40's

well i was just going to buy the 165 afr.I was just unsure if the E7s could flow like that. I aso need a nice cam for my set up then iam done . it with all that ill have a nice street motor

Yeah I really don't see a set of ported E7's flowing anywhere near a set of afr 165's.

When I did my H/C/I......this guy I know took my old heads to get them ported/polished.

He said that he knows a guy that will make those heads run better than my TrickFlows.......

I don't know how accurate that is, but he did have his car featured in 5.0 Magazine

according to a dynojet test cnc ported stock heads will you give you 35 hp over stock on a mildly modified engine

I'm rebulding my 302 right now and got a three angle valve job on them on my heads for only like 70 bucks for both of them, not finished yet wish I could tell you if it was worth it or not : /, I would of gotten new heads but couldnt afford it.
