Default How well do These engines hold up with alot of miles on them.??

I have been looking at 95'-99' cobras. But they alll have 90,000-140,000 miles on them!!
How well do these engines hold up with this many miles on them?? Are they still reliable or no?? what items/maintenance should be done around that many miles?!?! gaskets? belts? pulleys? etc etc etc?!?! Thanks for the help.........

well the 95 has the 5.0 Liter in it, and it doesn't even start to be broken in until after 100,000 miles if it is well taken care of.. As for the later 4.6's I have not a clue, but I am sure they are reliable as well...

i have only herd good things about the 4.6 so you shouldn't have to worry as for the 5.0 my buddy has on with 140,000 on it and he does burn a little oil on decel but still pulls high 13's in the 1/4 so don't worry

Currently running mid 12's on my 150,000mile 302
No worries man, theyre stout engines.

But I do remember hearing something about the head gaskets on the 96's?
Or was that a problem with the v6's?
Can't remember

Mine has about 160,000 miles and it doesn't even burn any oil.

About the 4.6L they should be ok except for the first year which was 1996, they are junk.

178k miles on mine and it needs oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket and rear main seal. But does not burn any oil. And she'll still stroll!

Beware of the 96, I had one and, after 80k miles it burned oil like no other. I took very good care of it and ran synthedic motor oil. Looked like a "go go gadget smoke screen" under hard acceleration. I kicked that biatch to the curb for my 5.0 .

Like I said, they don't break in until after a lot of miles.. Mine has 117,000 and it runs like new, and looks like new under the hood. I really scored on my car...
