spark plug wires

RE: spark plug wires
What I do with all my cars is I got to Schmucks and get the Cheveron Fuel cleaner, than I get my tank as low as possible, go to Chevron and fill up with Premium gas, adding the Fuel cleaner. It works wonders!!! Although there has been a few times on older cars that I have had to replace the filter because of this. I am just wondering if you got some bad gas, or have water or crap of some kind in your tank.
Maybe a new fuel filter is needed?

RE: spark plug wires
Switch the wires back to Ford
I'm not saying the MSDs are bad, but these engines seem to prefer Ford ignition parts
A/M wires can cause what you are describing
Even quality "race" aftermarket wires can mess with the EEC-IV for some reason
It's common enough to warrant switching back to stock wires when chasing down a problem such as this

RE: spark plug wires
I have never hear anything bad about MSD wires, I don't thuink they are your problem unless you installed them wrong. I am going to go out on a limb and say you have a unrelated problem. Go to auto zone and have your codes pulled...it is free. Then come back here and tell us what they say before you buy parts.
