Default automatic or manual

ok i drive a manual 4 cyl already and plan on gettin a 5.0. should i stick with the manual or should i switch to automatic. i know the manual is gonna push out more power and get better mileage, but are their any cons i'm not thinking of.

Typically.. if its a street car, I always recommend keeping the car what it is. Since its a manual, you wont have to rewire anything, or worry about swapping out pedal assemblies and such.

an auto can be built to shift faster than a stick. they are more consistant vs. a stick.
the auto may not have quite the fun factor b/c you cant dump the clutch, but a 3500stall is pretty fun and i can launch mine at 3k.
*edit* adder is right also. the 5 speed has a higher internal gear ratio than an auto, so you get more acceleration.

A set of headers, off-road h-pipe, and a nice sounding cat-back. You can also get some power without having to spend any money. For example, port the upper and lower intake, boost your timing, and re-set the tps.
