255 or 255 high pressure pump?
www.jdsperformance.comWhich fuel pump should I order? They have two 255 fuel pumps, one is a high pressure version and only a dollar more. Should I get the 255 or the 255 high pressure? My car is stock and I have future plans to install a 351.

the regular one will be fine.
if you buy the high pressure one, you might end up killing it by having stock fuel lines.

I got the regualer one in mine and it works fine, but I was wondering the same thing when I got mine from there. I figure 88lph (stock)would keep up with my 302, a 255 will keep up with a 351 no problem.

the hi pressure ones are better suited for boosted motors because most people either increase the fuel pressure or have a boost referencing fuel pressure regulator that adds fuel pressure as boost increases. either way, a pump that can support high pressure is needed. for a n/a motor, the standard 255 will be fine. it can support about 500hp

RE: 255 or 255 high pressure pump?
I talked to a tuner tonight and he said I should just get the standard volume fuel pump for my tune. However there is a supercharger in my future and I dont want to do a fuel pump twice. On eBay it says the standard volume ones are not recommended for supercharged engines and to get the high pressure pump for boost. Would the standard volume be okay for me even with boost, or why do they say that?

There isn'tmuch difference in theoutput of the pumpsuntil you hit 50psi. Above that the high pressure one is better. If you have a NA or supercharged car and it's tuned with proper sized or even slightly undersized injectors with 50psi or less, it won't makemuch of adifference. If you plan on running a FMU and plan on higher fuel pressures, then go with the high pressure pump. The link to the chart below shows the pump output difference at different pressures.
