How to replace plastic gear in 95 GT odometer

Anyone got any experience with replacing the spur & worm gear inside the speedometer ? Is this something that is easy to do ?

My 95 GT's speedometer works fine but the odometer/trip have stopped working and it sounds like this is usually the result of a worn out gear.

If you are talking about the one in the guage I dont htink they are replacable. Most that Ive seen the gear is plastic and melted into place.

There's now a repair kit for the '94-'96 odometers check it at LRS . regarding how to do it, I will be able to tell you by next week..... have one '95 scheduled for repair.
