I know they say its bad to switch back to regular oil after using synthetic , but is it ok to switch between synthetic oils ? the previous owner used royal purple .. i used to use castrol and i liked it but i also heard mobil1 is very good .. what do you guys use ? any opinions ?

I personally think switching between synthetic and non-synthetic oil is fine. I use Supertech Synthetic 10w-30.

Switching doesnt matter, If you want too run the best oil then run a synthetic as long as it isnt quaker state or penzoil. Also you wont have to change it as often so it all evens out in the end.

I run Castrol GTX conventional in the stang. I had problems when I switched (Mobil 1) to synthetic in my Dodge with leaks. I have used Amsoil synthetic in my truck for the last 2 changes. I really like the amsoil compared to the Mobil 1 and the Motorcraft synthetic blend I had before. Mothe the motorcraft and mobil came out black, where thte amsoil did not. The truck only has 21K on it now, and I have religiously changed oil since new.
