Are Computers Worth It?

RE: Are Computers Worth It?
I just sent mine out, I jsut did my bolf ons and my car was running like **** due to the fact that my computer could not trim up my 24lb injectors well enough as well as a few other minor emmsions bullsheet. There is no need to send your computer out unless you have bolted on some power and need the power and spark curves balanced out to your power range that your going to put out. So basically if you are going to do a tonne of bolt ons do them first and see if it runns right if not send it out for a burn and go and get a cutsom tune from your local dyno I am getting a Diablo Chip for my A9L computer, as well as a custom tune once I get the car running to spec. But I have it bad I am running speed Desity rather than MAF which is a tuning nightmare.

flashing a new chip is great if you will stay with those mods forever.
buying a programmable system like PMS from anderson motorsports is even better, because then as you mod the car you can tweak the computer to the new mods. these types of computers are more expensive than the one time flash chips.
again, if you dont have a lot of mods than a new computer is not going to make a difference, in the case you have lots of bolt ons you can definately add some power with a better timing curve and fuel pressure curve. thats when it shines.
