Default AFR 165's or 185's ??? who has them ???

Are AFR 165's going to help much.....

My car is a 92 GT AOD vert, and it was deadly SLOW stock i've addedthe followingbut I NEED MORE POWER please help ! ! ! My car still does not feel as fast as i'd like, it hooks nice off the line but after that it needs to pull stronger.... it has

cold air intake , underdrive pullies
3000 stall torque converter, shift kit , tranny cooler
410 gear
BBK shorty headers, bassani cattedx pipe, flowmasters
Aluminum driveshaft
Mickey Thompson Et Street radials

I'm going to have about 3,000 grand canadian over the winter. To get a set of AFR's on my car with good roller rockers, myself installing is going to cost a good 2,100 i'd assume.
My car does not "feel" as fast as i'd like , it hooks nice off the line but after that i want it to pulling much harder. If i get the heads I might be able toget a used edlebrock performer II intake for them.

Just wondering what kind of improvements I'd see, torque / hp/ track.... the car should be running mid 13's right now i'm taking her to the track next weekend so i'll have slips after the 15th

AlsoIDONT want to go with a nitrous kitright now, want to build the motor...

Ive got the AFR 165's and noticed a hell of a difference once they were on and my cam was in.
I got Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers.

I paid $1400 shipped for the heads, $40 for the bolts and $219(?) for the rockers.
I forget how much the pushrods were.

I've got the 165s also, i'm pretty impressed so far but will have a better idea once it's tuned and get it to the track. You might as well throw a cam in there too when you do the heads and intake, all together it'll make a very nice increase in power. Heads are the single best n/a mod you can do.

i also have the afr 165 heads andi think you will love them. onyxcobra and i have pretty much the same setup with some minor differences. do the whole h/c/i package. this for all the guy's without the h/c/i package. you will spend hundreds dollars buying the small mods. and be disappoint. i understand if you don't have the money, but man the h/c/i setup really wakes your 5.0 up. save your money! i did the same thing buying headers, cai, and so on... get in the car the next day and disappoint. if i had to do it again from the begin. i would have started out with a h/c/i swap and get the bolt on'slater. kick'en some a## out the gate.

I also have AFR 165's(are we noticing a pattern here?) and they run great. You'll definately notice a big increase in power. And yeah, I agree that as long as you're gonna have the intake and heads off, swap in a cam as well

When I had my heads changed I had a custom ground cam put in too. My car already had an intake.
