I get the jist of the swap, just don't know if it would be easier and safer to run the relay under the hood, instead of behind the dash. Just kickin ideas around

I'd run it under the hood because the closer to the battery you can get it and the fog light...the less heavy gauge wire you have to use cause from the switch to the relay you can run smaller wire because all the switch will do is trigger the relay cause it uses low amperage to run a high amperage circuit

Thats sort of what I was thinking as well. Also, it is already pretty cramped for space behind the switches.I do want the option to run them anytime tho, so I will do some rewiring to the switches.

mine is under the hood by the battery... ive got a small wire running from a extra fuse block i have under my hood.. to the fog light switch then from the switch to the relay... then ran wire from the relay to the fogs... works great....

the reason i have an extra fuse block under the hood is because im running electric fan, and msd ignitionso i installed a 6 fuse, fuse block so i went ahead and ran the power to the relay and to the fog light switch from the fuse block...

I was hoping to pick up a supply hot for the relay off the headlight switch. This way I only have to run 1 wire to the fogs, instead of 1 in and 1 out.
