Default installing a posi

i have an open rear end right now and i found a ford racing posi at summit racing for like 200 is this what will make both wheels spin, originally i thought i would have to replace the whole rear axle but then i thought i my as well look to see if there was an easier way to get a posi and thats when i stumbled along this little toy.

this is the diff....\http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

if this is what i need does anyone know how many splines a stock 88 lx came with 28? 31?

thanks for the advice

As far as I can tell that's just a stock track-lok. You should have 28-spline axles...

Personally... I'd try to get a carrier out of the junk yard and rebuild it with better than stock parts for $100 and be ahead some coin.

Or... Confirm that it will interchange and go with a "stated to be good" used unit.
