ZEX Install almost finished - Timing/Plug Questions

I'm basically done with installing my ZEX kit on my car and was running Autolite 25 spark plugs.

Is it okay to go two steps colder? My parts store was out of 24's so I got 23's and gapped them at 44-46. I just wanted to make sure those plugs would be fine.

I'm going to be running a 75 shot to start and then bump up to a 100 shot shortly after.

Last thing, my timing is at 14 right now. Will that be okay for a 75 shot or should I go to 12? I plan on eventually getting up to like a 150 shot so could somebody tell me the rule of thumb on timing with nitrous?

Thanks,

Jeff

I'd set timing to base (10) then run 93 octane.

Most guys with nitrous I see running around .035 plug gap. Maybe because they run there cars fat?

Usually its take out 2 degrees of timing per 50hp increase.

What kind of heads are you running? And 2 degree's of timing for every 50 shot is the rule of thumb but very conservative. If you don't have high compression i would probably retard 3 degree's for every 100 shot.

So what should I start out with on the 75 shot? I am running ported e7's with an e-303 cam.

Is it okay to be running #23 plugs gapped at 45?

I would try 2 and 3. I am not sure of plugs. I have ported tf's and 11:1 compression. Autolite reccomended me to use 3923's n/a and 3922's with nitrous.

heres what i run on 80 jets

14* timing , 92 octane, stock plugs gapped .042"

now , i would drop to 12* for 100 jets unless it's cool out, i would run 10* on the 150 jets though, always run 92+ octane , and no need for the colder plugs really til you get over 100 jets

i have in the past squirted 12* on 87 octane, but it was about 65* and nice air

there are alot of variables, you'll get used to it, keep notes, read your plugs, watch your mph at the track and test and tune it

same day, same settings but higher timing.......when your mph goes DOWN, your going lean from too much timing, so back off to where it was highest (mph) don't pay attention to ET

Perfect! That's just the answer I was looking for, I appreciate the help!
