pulling trans and intake this weekend??

ok this weekend its time to pull the trans, and upper and lower intake. ive ordered a new throwout bearing and upper and lower intake gaskets. does anyone know about how much it costs to have a flywheel machined? i think im going to replace the clutch disc also to see if this stops my chatter. can anyone tell me if i left anything out for this job i have ahead of me? thank you sorry for the few posts on kinda the same subject.

get a new pilot bearing as well. Those are commonly overlooked. (bushing in the flywheel...bearings work better.)

EDIT: I would take care of all the normal-wear parts while you've got it out: clutch fork ($35), TO bearing, clutch disc, pilot bearing ($100 or less), tranny mount ($25 for poly, if it is worn), and replace your tranny crossmember bushings w/ poly as well ($20). The mount and crossmember bushings aren't too difficult to do later if you don't have the time/money, but don't put them off too long if they are worn/damaged.

Yeah, its good insurance to do the pilot bearing too. Just rent a pilot removal tool from the local hardware store.

edit: mine wasnt too hard to get out, but I used the pilot bearing removal tool, I think I read pro50's pilot bearing just fell out haha

$30 isnt bad... I have a stock flywheel laying around, I will probably resurface it and use it in the future

ok cool i just remembered about the pilot bearing too. i dont think the rear main is leaking right now but it might be. why do you say it will leak after its replaced. ive installed rear mains before but not in a 5.0. ill have to get the fork too.
