Well I was having an idle issue so I changed the plugs, wires, changed the oil, cleaned the TB and IAC with cleaner...it seemed to be idling GOOD! Was out for a drive, testing it out and after about 15mins the car started to shake while I was driving, like a jerking motion....I figure here we go again with the idling problem. I slow down and it starts to happen again like I expect. The idle is going EVERYWHERE jumping around from 900-1300 up and down like nuts, sticking, etc....It seems like it only does it when it's hot, which is weird. I know it's not an engine mount or tranny mount or anything like that because it will only start to shake when the idle starts jumping around. I also revved it up to around 2500 and held it there while it was messing up (standing still) and you could see the rpm's jump causing the car to shake.

Any ideas?

PIP?? I was going to replce the distributor anyways, but didn't have the cash (until tomorrow)...so i'll get a new distributor tomorrow and look into the TFI...

new dizzy should come with both a new PIP and TFI

Well I bought a cap and rotor along with a TFI...not sure what a PIP is?

Brand spanking new wires, and it did it before I put the wires on. It's not the TFI because I changed it tonight and it's still doing the same thing. EVERYTIME I first start it it will go up to 900 drop to 300 up to 900 then drop 900...do that 3/4 times and then stay at idle. It's done this since I got it pretty much....When I switched the TFI it was idling way up by itself and staying there, i'd shut it off and it go up and down like normal then stayed at 900...I don't know what to do really. I'm thinking either IAC or TPS...

could be the TPS...

IAC doesn't have anything to do with anything other than idle, so if you have a problem with motor shakes while in motion, its not the IAC.

may be your pickup coil. like 15 bucks at autozone and you just need to take your dizzy to a ford dealer and have them pull it apart for you, and then replace the coil and have them stick it back together.

How much is a TPS? Like 40 bucks? I can't believe I paid 79.99 for the TFI...unreal. Oh well, i'm taking the **** back tomorrow and saying the guy gave me the wrong part hahaha. I guess i'll pick up a TPS, maybe a voltmeter first to make sure mine is working right.
