Default I GOT ONE!!

TODAY I GOT MY MUSTANG!!!! 1992 Black GT. Trickflow upper and lower street intake, 70mm BBK tb, 24lb inj, mac o/r hpipe, mac cat back, cobra rear bumper, 2.5 cowl hood, 15 aluminum rims. 2 small problems. After gasing it, it doesnt drop down idle right away, itll sit at 12-1300 rpms for a few sec's then drop down to 9-800. But i figured it was the TPS, unplugged it and it was fine so i need a new one. problem 2. theres a loud whistling sound at idle, i thought it could the mainifold spacer, or a mainifold leak. A buddy of mine says it could just be a belt. what do u guys think?

Congrats on the car, sounds nice. Also a vaccume leak could cause the rpm's to come down slow.

also my car has a little whistle noise too, it comes from near the TB or around there, i dont know what it is.

The whistleing could be a number of things. Do you have a CAI? If so it could be the CAI. It could be a vacuum leak also. If it is a vacuum leak it could be the cause of your high idle. I would locate the whistle before I went and purchased a new tps. Oh yeah, CONGRATS ON THE NEW STANG!!! hope you enjoy s much as I think you will. Post some pics too (when you get some)

new stang owner[sm=icon_cheers.gif] if that's all the bolt ons then going back to 19# injector will cure a lil of the idle problem

Whistling could also be the EGR valve, which happens to be near the t/b...

Your idle thing, isnt a problem, all mustangs do it. When you get off the gas, it stays at about 1,000 for 2 or 3 secs, then drops down. Sometimes it takes longer than others. My friends brand new 03 mach1 does it as well.
