replacing springs

replacing springs
I need to replace my rear springs. I have heard that lowering the car 1.5 inches improves handling and the over all appearance. I have tried to do some research on edelbrock eibach and ford racing. Though they all seem the same to me. Im not sure if it is worth the money or what brand is the best. Any input would help.

RE: replacing springs
when i put a part on my car, i generally try to pick companys that specialize in what i'm buying.
edelbrock specializes in engine parts, so i wouldn't buy suspension pieces from them.
eibach however is a great choice.

RE: replacing springs
I have the FRPP Bs on my car and it looks awesome, corners on smooth pavement aweomse, but now that I've lived with them for a couple thousand miles it rides stiffer than I would like. Granted, I have my stock (whipped) struts and no chassy bracing, so my official verdict is still out until those problems are addressed.
Oh.. FYI: The B's advertise ~1" drop all the way around the car, and I feel thats accurate, and I would not lower it any more than that if you drive it often. My tail pipes/bumper has dragged on very aggressive driveways before and it just barely clears average parking lot speed bumps.

RE: replacing springs
ok thanks.I looked at the FRPP and H & R. FRPP says you dont need caster camber , do I still need to by bushings or wheel spacers? Or is the spring all I need? Might be a dump question but have seen both and am new to all this.

RE: replacing springs
FRPP lies if they say you don't need the plates... I was pretty strapped for cash when I did mine (got a new job and had to move 130 miles right in the middle of the project), so I just used camber bolts at the struts to shim the spindle back out. It's probably not the best way to do it, but it's cheap ($20) and effective. I plan to do plates when I replace the struts. A bumpsteer kit is also on my list too. Maybe its not required, but the car is pretty darty at the moment without them.
edit: Yes, buy new spring isolator bushings... I have polyurethane Energy Suspension bushings on mine.
