I'm having technical problems with this forum, so this is my 3rd and final attempt to reply.
If you don't know when your throttle body was cleaned last, I'll bet that this is the problem.
Get fuel injection safe carb cleaner. Don't use regular carb cleaner.
If you use a K&N filter, the oil will build up on the air flow sensor. You'll want to get pipe cleaner (you can get them at a craft store or Wal-Mart, don't be tempted to use a Q-tip). The sensor wire is about the thickness of a hair. You'll be able to tell if there is build up on it. Clean it very GENTLY.
I prefer to take off the throttle body to clean it, but it can be done on the car. It's also easier to check the TPS with it off.
There is also a post on the forum that even has pics.
