Default fuel pressure release

Doing some work to my 93 GT and was wondering the easiest way to release fuel pressure ? My Haynes manual says to disconnect the roll-over switch under the carpet,in hatch and then plug back in and hit the reset on it when done. I pulled up the carpet in the hatch and I can see wire loom going to a round rubber grommet through the floor, but I see no reset button on it. It's the only thingthat has wiring running to it under the carpet, is this it? Someone also told me about afitting in the engine bay, that you could use torelease pressure?

there is a schrader valve under the hood next to your fuel rails on the hard line

The switch in the trunk won't release pressure. It'll just cut power to the pump, making it unable to turn on when the key is on.

The easiest way to release pressure is at the schrader valve on the fuel line on/near the front of the engine. If the car is left sitting for a little while, the pressure will go down on its own. If the engine has run recently, you'll have to de-pressurize the line. With the engine off, put a rag over the valve, then push in the valve pin. It'll spray some, but shouldn't be too much for the rag to absorb. If you don't cover it, you'll probably shoot yourself in the face with gas...or...um...your wife if she's holding the light for you (sometimes you forget an important step).

The inertia switch is behind the left side rear trim panel in the trunk (covers taillight harness). To use this method you have to trip the switch then start the car until it stalls. This is actually the way to properly do it. You can use the schrader valve to relieve the pressure but you need to follow the precautions listed by other posters.

or to make it easier you can just pull the fuel pump relay when car is running, or just wait 45 mins or so
