valve job and resurface should cost about 150-200 bucks, and guides are like 8-10 bucks a piece to have them replaced. i will say however, that you would have a 1 in a 1000 set of heads if you needed all the guides replaced, or even if you needed all of the exhaust guides replaced (they go sloppy first)

well i just wondered as i seen a set of patriot headsin canada for 300. they needed 13 valve guides replaced and a valve job, but after looking at the new heads 850-900 i think i might buy some of them so you can get some info. They seem to flow ok, for the money one will spend, check out my other thread

^^ lmao, yes i know he is. But i am not sure, i have been reading and taking some info from people that have used them, and all i heard was "i'd stay clear from them" "there chinese and the vlave guides break, cheap but ok" "they make good power but not great quality"

these are things i heard from people that have used them.

So why would you want them?? Considering you found a cheap set that need basically all new guides....maybe you can get those and use a differnt type of guide?

link please?

what your describing sounds like the chinese / aussie heads which arent these. i looked around on their site and the 5.0 heads still arent listed. the 4.6 heads are ford castings that they are CNC porting, and the LS GM heads are their own castings with OEM GM valves and hardware. Seems like everything else is quality I wonder why they would make cheap *** SBF heads if thats really true.

and how did those heads your looking at end up with 13 broke guides? link there too please

It looks like the valves slapped the pistons. Look at the topright picture, you can see where the valve bent into the guide.
