RE: Oil pan gasket???
You can change the gasket in the car but it is hard to get all the old gasket off the motor to ensure a good seal. I have seen friends jack the motor up a little bit to get more clearance on the issue. As for swapping motors. It is pretty simple since you are taking out and putting in the same motor. If you are going to rebuild the motor, be sure to get a haynes or chilton book to get all the correct torque readings and patterns.

HEY, DID ANY OF YOU GUYS HAVE A 7 QT. OIL PAN? MY GASKET IS LEAKING A BIT AND I'M GETTIN TIRED OF PUTTING A QT. OF $8 ROYAL PURPLE ABOUT EVERY MONTH. I WAS QUOTED $400 FROM A MUSTANG SHOP, SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO DROP THE STEARING AND K-MEMBER. I GOT UNDER IT AND AND IT DIDN'T LOOK QUITE THAT TIGHT TO HAVE TO DO ALL THAT. NOT SURE OF BRAND BUT LOKKING AT MAGAZINES, I THINK IT IS A MOROSO OIL PAN.
