recent idle problem
i got my maf hooked back up and on a cold start or after the car has been sitting for a couple of hrs, it revs to 2 grand stay for like 2 min then drops to normal. today i start it, much colder this morning, it stayed at 2-2500 during my whole 25min drive. i was on the highway and when i got off it was still holding high. is that due to the tps not set properly. i didnt notice any vacuum leaks.

RE: recent idle problem
check your coolant temp sensor
|
RE: recent idle problem
ok yea thats probably it because the clip broke out of the rubber when i resealed the intake.ill check it out.

RE: recent idle problem
this might be a dumb solution, but posibly your iac might be dirty and to check your tps.
|
RE: recent idle problem
yea when i had the intake off the gasket kit came with a new iac gasket so i figured to check it.but then again it could be bad. i know the tps is not set right i have to do an idle relearn i think. im also gonna go cut one of those wires off another car for the temp sensor wire.

RE: recent idle problem
the fact that the idle comes up at all says the IAC is good.... but the engine temperature will be directly in control of how far the ECU opens the IAC... so your IAC is NOT the problem...
check your coolant temp sensor |
RE: recent idle problem
ok ty sir. like i said i didnt think it was the iac. but i believe its the coolant temp cuz i know i f'ed up the wire.

RE: recent idle problem
Can u tell me were this is located. Have 93 LX Coupe. It is different from the gauge temp sender right? [:@]

RE: recent idle problem
i dont think so. it should be on the d/s in the front of the intake. it was just the wires is messed up on mine. i figured thats what it was.

RE: recent idle problem
it should be in front of the #1 intake runner.... PASSENGER SIDE\
if you messed up the one on the drivers side, thats the ACT - air charge temp sensor |
