Prometheus

Took my 90 GT in for CA smog running smooth, recieved it back running rough. It's rough at idle and smooths out under accelteration. It runs a bit rough at speed and seems not to have the same feel in accelerating. I asked the mechanics what did they do to my car, they said nothing. I got one guy to pop the hood and show me what they did (hook up some moniter at some lead by the distributer). He said my wires must be cooked and that the spark plug boots were coated with white and that was the problem. The wires are about a year and a half old. None of them touch any metal. What do y'all think it might be? Thanks for any help!

they might have forgot to reconnect your spout connecter while checking the timing. This would result in retarded timing and slow acceleration.

replace your wires if they are discolored at all

Thanks, for the info. I'll get some Ford Racing wires. Hopefully they'll last a while. And, I'll toss on a new cap-n-roter (some carbon on the contacts). I was going to put on my Cold Air Intake anyway after the Smog test, so it'll make a nice little project. Thanks again.
