another smog pump question?

Default another smog pump question?

i removed the bolts from the back of the heads and they dont look like they are 5/8 they are alot smaller than the ones i bought from summitt, its dark now so i cant mess around anymore tonight, but did the CA cars have a different set up or the 88s have a different set up. any ideas

the thermactor holes are 5/8" thread, the bolts that hold the smog system on are much smaller... but believe me... you bought the right size pieces

see the top right hole is smaller than the one almost directly below it...
the larger hole is your thermactor hole... thats the one you plug up

just got everything apart and found the holes like in the picturebut it seems as if the 5/8 bolts i got from summitt are too big and i went to advance auto parts and got some 5/ bolts and the seem too big andy ideas, did some of them have different heads or sizes, my 88 GT seemed to be all stock and original when i got it and removed the exaust sytem. help please.

there seems to be alot of crap in the threads in the head what can i use to safely clean the threads and what is the exact size of the plug?

i just did a search and the thread said that the wholes are a 9/16 head 3/8 bolt and they will plug the holes ford part no. F4ZZ-6EO86, can anyone verify this, thanks

trust him he helped me out when i had the same problem..theyseemed to big at first but clean out the holes and they will fit fine
