Default switching to a carb?

if I switch to a carb set up on a86 mustang that is efi, will the stock igniton work properly if I just disconnect the fuel injectors from the rest of the harness and run the carb intake set up?

I did it on a 85 cougar. I just marked all the wires before disconnecting them from the old stuff. When I hooked up the new what ever was left over I just cut off. Now I only use the computer for is the speedo.
