Default new bottom end how long for break in

i just put a new engine in my car out of a 89 5.0 x-cop car that i bought as a theft recovery the car was pulled out of a lake so while it was out i decided to throw new mains and rod bearings in it how long until it should be broke in or until i can drive hard again

Treat it like a rebuild...500 mile break in and change the oil?

change oil after 500-1000 miles either or... and just drive it easy for atleast 500, i would say

change the oil after 50 miles then after 500 then after 100k then every 3k , use regular oil( castrol or havoline ) take it easy for the first thousand miles, once u hit 3k miles put synthetic in it ( AMSOIL OWNS!!! ull be fine

If you have molly rings and everything is put together properly there is no break in time... People will give different periods of time it is all preferance... Like i said if it has molly rings feel free to tromp on it any time you feel like...

my friend has had 2 motors professionally built recently, a 306 and a 351 and he ran the dog sh*t out of them as soon as the cam was broken in good. If its put together right, it should be fine.

i think the rings are stock i never had the pistons out or heads off i just threw some new bearings in it because it was full of water and i heard they can get stained

my motors all have roller cams ....i just run it for say 20 mins than adjust my valves change oil ..and go ...run some 10s........most race motors you just cant put 500/1000 miles on them it would take to long.....[&:]
