SoI picked up this 88gt 5speed, still speed density, headers, o/r h pipe, 65mm tb, no egr, no smog. The motor was replace with one from a lincoln markVIII. Idid a full tuneup on it withplugs wires, cap and rotor, and coil. When I'm cruising around and i go from 1/4 throttle to full throttle it delays or bogs as if it were running on 4 cylinders and then kicks in all of a sudden at full power. but if i start off at full throttle its fine. It happens in every gear and i thought it could have been the tps, but it was not the problem. I tried to see what injectors were on it but they are black and I have no idea what they could be.

Someone said it might be the MAP sensor but I have no idea.
Could having the timing off make it respond like that when going from 1/4 - full throttle but still run great when flooring it from the start?
I still need to check the timing but any ideas on what could be causing the problem.

I am getting the same problem. Also if I am in second and I floor it, the cars rpm starts to like jerk almost. Its not a smooth pull...what is my problem also? sorry to kinda jack your thread but its all along the same subject

Agreed. Maybe even run some Sea Foam through it. Start simple to rule out some of the usual minor things.

i have a brand new fuel filter and i have run sea foam through it already. still got the hickups

im wondering if its the timing or the map sensor.
could even be injectors
im not really sure i dont know much about the speed density crap all ive herd is that it doesnt respond well to mods.

common timing setting error, also make sure your spout for the dizzy is there, remove it when seting timing, replace when done

If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, check that your fuel pressure is ok when it happens, does it seem to happen only when you are under or around 1/4 tank of gas? you might have a broken baffle in the fuel tank.

Mine happens all the time...just hickups like the other dude said...maybe its just because its speed density

sounds like timin,check that check fuel pressure easy to do change fuel filter also might be clogged do the basics an yes try seafoam its cheap enough to try even if it doesn't work it shows a nice smoke screen lol
