RE: 86gt efi to carb, what carb what intake?
Use good head bolts, nothing sucks more than having to redo a head swap because of blown gasket from crappy hardware. As far as carbor efi, a good carb setup will make more power than a crappy efi setup, and a good efi setup will make more power than a crappy carb setup. It's gonna come down to the quality of the system and not so much the type. Carb is cheaper overall, and much simpler, and you also have a cleaner engine compartment, but if you already have efi and don't know how to mess with carbs, then you might as well just get a decent efi induction setup. If you do want to go carb there's plenty of good stuff. Depending on build you could use something like Weiand's new Action Plus(pn 8124) which is good for more mild cam/heads, pulls hard out to 6,000rpm, or Edelbrock's Performer RPM for larger cam/head combos, it's good out to around 7,000rpm. Holley makes decent carbs, you could also get a Demon, or if you wanna really spend the money on an excellent carb, Pro Systems(but they're quite pricey). Plenty of options, but in all reality, if you already have efi, you'll spend just as much on a good carb/intake combo as you would on a good efi intake. Just stuff to consider
Definately ditch those e6 heads if you can. Like Adder said, Exploder short block

Around here the 'Pick-A-Part' type wrecking yards are only $150 for '87-'95 5.0's . Thats for a complete engine with 90 day warranty too.
Almost not even worth getting you hands dirty changing headgaskets etc..........

yes it will, because the E6 heads are a twisted wedge design
also, early motors (dunno when they switched) had non-stretch bolts and you can reuse those just fine.

the pull a parr here wont buy 5.0s from auctions cus they go for too much, not to mention u rarely see a 5.0 at a auction, infact there really arent many around here on the road, they also dont buy cars much newer than 90. the regular yard do but they want like 900 for a good motor

the machine shop said i can re use my bolts. so im going to. its a moot point i dont have the 80 bucks for a new set right now. i will read my manual and see what it says, or get older bolts off an old 302 at the boneyard that arent stretch bolts
