explorer intake

I'm working on a budget build here for our 94 GT, and I will be using an engine from an 89GT. I can get a 97 explorer upper/lower intake with throttle body for $150... should I go for it? Will this work good with a decent set of heads and a mild cam?

RE: explorer intake

GT intake < Cobra intake < Explorer intake.

The Explorer intake is a good, cheap alternative. It's slightly better than the Cobra intake too. Not a LOT better, but it is ever-so-slightly better and is often cheaper or easier to find.

The car is a vert so she will never be af ull track car... we just are piecing together some upgraded top end parts while I'm rebuilding the engine.

So you are saying for the price if it's in good shape, go for it?

well he said he'd settle for $175 cash for the upper, lower, throttle body, injectors and all the sensors that go to it.

Good deal? Will it work with my build? I'm buildin a 89 bottom end to put into our 1994 GT..

yes everything will work. the injectors might be differnt though i dont know. look in the tech section at the injector page. it shows all the injectors sizes and what they will come out of.

RE: explorer intake

Keep in mind that if you want to use the TB in your SN95, you're going to have to make some minor modifications. Also don't forget that either way, you're gonna need an elbow with the intake. I suppose you can take the injectors but they aren't too useful to you.

Here's a good set of instructions for installing the Explorer intake on an SN95 Mustang.

And here's a link to explain what you have to do to use the Explorer TB in a Mustang.

Thanks! Can't wait to get it.. And for the injectors, I can sell them off for a few bucks if I want or keep um around as spares for whatever project may be next.

I appreciate your time guys!!!
