I have a 95 5.0, 5speed and i just replaced my plugs and wires. gapped the plugs myself all to 54(what the guys at schucks told me). I made all the wires and took my time and did a damn good job, and now it feels like my car has no power its has some up until around 4000 rmps then it feels like someone straps a 5000 pound trailer onto me. it also takes way longer to turn over when first starting. thanks for the time i appreciate it, Zach

Gap is right, just double check that the heat range is right and your wiring if the car ran well before.

what plugs were they? when I usesd a set of ngk plugs it felt down on power compared to the autolite #24 plug.

lemme guess... accel wires???

if so, throw them in the garbage, never buy them again, and order a regular set of wires

autolite plugs.
msd wires
msd cap
msd coil.
this combo works excelent for my 95.
check your timing too. you may have bumped the dizzy when replceing the wires
