i just bought a new 347 for my 93 mustang. i installed the motor, and every since i put it in ive really been having problems with the car wanting to idle. i have tried ajusting the throttle position sensor, and there was no luck there. My timing is where it needs to be, and i really am unsure of what the problem actually is. Any Ideas?

i forgot to add that all of my vacuum lines are hooked up properly.

Is it dying when it should be idling?

check the fuel pressure regulator and see if it is spitting gas into its vaccuum line. i had a brand fuel pressure regulator do the same thing you are talking about.

yes, the car dies when it should be idling. it really doenst even try to idle.

i have a stock 5.0 that im also havin trouble idle and everything checks out but i havnt checked this fuel regulator. it has a really rough idle and it sort of bucks when i give it some gas. any ideas? could it be from back pressure?

I had the same problem with mine when I put my 331 in. It needs more air to idle. You can drill a 1/4" hole on the throttle body blade or get this IAC adjuster. It helped me once I got it adjusted correctly.

was this a shortblock purchased? what heads are on it? pics?
