shimming a starter?
i have a 93 mustang with a t-5 in it. i was having problems with my starter engaging the teeth on my flywheel. i was wondering if there was a way to shim the starter to make it closer to the flywheel. if its possible how do i do it?

RE: shimming a starter?
they do make shims that go between the starter and the bellhousing to move it out further, but i doubt thats really your problem. i had a similar problem with mine, 1st try changing the starter if that fixes it sweet if not id say theres something wrong with your flywheel. I changed my starter 1st and i had the same prob about a week later starter not engaging right, i ended up changing the flywheel solved my problem
