ok thats cool man, some people like to have a little extra reasurance that it is there, ive done a couple also. He has the gaskets so why not use them. Just because its not YOUR way doesnt make it wrong, there are a hundred ways to skin a cat and clearly your way is different then my way, im not saying your way is wrong or right, im not saying my way is wrong or right, but both get the job done and this is a forem where you state your opinion, and i stated what i thought would work well for him o ya im LMAO at you because you sound like a 14 year old girl on her cell phone

problem is, YOUR way leads to what he just showed us a picture of. eliminate the possibility by eliminating the gasket.
normally i let things slide because you are right, there is more than one way to skin a cat - but this is an example of when there really is a right way and a wrong way.
ask virtually any engine builder in a machine shop, race shop, auto repair shop, and any other kinda shop you can think of where people deal with engines on a daily basis. i would say you would be VERY hard pressed to find a single person in these fields that would say they use those gaskets.

well im not saying just use the gasket, im saying use RTV with the gasket, when i did my cam swap i only put the gaskets back on and i had an oil leek, then i had to take it apart and re due it, which i then used gaskets and RTV and have had the car running for more then 2 years without a single drop of oil

Just use the gaskets Fel-Pro puts in the kit with just a bit of blue silicone sealant.
When Ford built these cars, they used the end seals for a reason and I think they know more about 5.0's than anybody on this board.
Using gobs of silicone insted of the seals can easily lead to leaks of all sorts.........

the problem is the RTV makes it slippery and when you torque the intake down it can easily squeeze out and create a leak as shown in that pic.
if you HAD to use one of those gaskets you'd be best to use weatherstripping adhesive (its like snot) on one side to stick them in place.

the rubber one is form fitted to stay put unlike the cork pos ones.ill use it, if it leaks oh well.
i can redo it, plus i think i might get a intake sooner or later.
i found crosshatching in my cylinder walls what does this mean if i have 227K???
rebuilt?
