Default flaming river? manuel rack?

i need to ither get a new power rack or get manual steering. i dont know what i should do. it is not a daily driver but its not a track car. just a weekend car. I have herd mixed opinions about manual. some say dont if u want to drive it on the street. i have no idea. is the wheel going to be harder to turn that the power rack with no fluid or should it be easier, because right now im driving it with out the power steering. also if i change it to the manual will i need a new steering shaft?
thanks.

a manual rack is much much easier to turn then a power rack with no pump hooked up. i have a manual rack in my daily driver and its fine. i drive one handed all the time. unless i make a U turn or other extremely tight turn

yes you need a new steering shaft. buy the whole kit, it will come with everything you need. the rack, bushings, ends, and steering shaft

that is an awsome pix, but anyways i have herd some horror stories about the F.R. shafts. i heard that they can come loose because they only use a set screw or something. Any truth to this?

I've been using a Flaming River manual rack kit for almost 1 1/2 on my racer.
I've NEVER had a problem with any set screws coming loose on me.
I do agree and I had some concerns at the time I installed it about the set-screws.
The Flaming River kits come with real good instructions and do not require any exceptional tools at all.
My total installation time was under 3 hours, working by myself using only hand tools. I'd bet I could the next one in under 2 hours....
