Default EGR ?

do i need to have an egr? Does it give me power, will my car run weird without it? do i need like a dummy sensor?

It doesnt hurt anything to leave it.
I have h/c/i and no smog pump but left the egr hooked up because I saw no reason to take it off.

Yes for emissions testing, no difference in power, the car will not run weird w/out it, the dummy sensor is to keep the CEL (Check Engine Light) indicator at the instrument panel off (EGR failure code 33 is the only one logged).....CEL off or on, the result is the same....EGR is bypassed/deleted by the computer as soon as an EGR failure code (31, 32, 33, 34, 35) is detected.

I did a H/C/I and have no smog, my car runs better with it unhooked
