Default clearing the computer

How do you clear the computer for my 88 mustang Lx 5.0. Im guessing something to do with unpluggin the battary for a few minutes?

Disconnect the hot cable to your battery cable for five minutes.

always go ground first, since thats the way current flows(not life or death, just the way your supposed to do it... keeps from having a voltage spike frying any of your electronics). you could also pull the fuse for the computer too, that way you don't loose radio settings etc.

The ground is always first!!!! it does not matter witch you diconnect it will clear the computer eather way, the reason you are supposed to diconnect the ground first is because it is less likely to create sparks that could blow up your battery.
