Default Are Patriot Heads any good?

My car is being rebuilt and the mechanic said stock re-manufactured heads for $450.00. He said that I can upgrade to a set of aluminum patriot heads for $600.00 more. What are these heads like?

Did some searches and found that every seems to think on paper the heads are great. I still can't find anything that says these heads are available for 5.0

Anyone found these yet?

So I guess the bolt in the engine did eventually lead to a full rebuild? Is there anymore on this story?

Not a full rebuild... the wrong piston was used, head was over milled causing the intake to not to seal and the head gasket was put on back wards.

New mechanic is replacing the piston, rings, heads, head gaskets for a grand total of 1800.00 in parts and labor. I am going to upgrade the heads to bring to total to 2300.00 I went to the fist shop with the written estimate of 1800.00 and offered to pay the first 400.00 and the owner would not do anything at all to help fix his mistakes. He said he did not make any mistakes and would not be responsible ever. I told him I would see him in court. I am getting everything ready to file a suit. I will keep everyone informed.

FYI those heads should not cost 1050.00 they are 895.00 plus shipping and I believe there is a seller on ebay for something like 915.00 with shipping included. They are supposed to do good work with the 4.6's, so I can't see why they would screw their name up by producing a crap 5.0 head.

Wow that sounds like a pretty rinkydink shop that you took it to. I hope that you get compensated every cent +more, or that you shut down his business because he obviously doesn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground! Guys like him should stick to things he knows like sippy cups and finger painting... [:@]
