the steeda #19 camshaft is a dam good cam and hard pulling. re-think,the custom grind cam the way to go. callwho everyou like and have them design you cam to your specification. also be sure you get a cam with a 114*/115* lsa for the 94/95gt.

Since we are on the subject of cams I was curious about the Steeda #19 cam's compatibility with the Cobra 5.0. They didn't give lobe lift or total lift specs for it on Steeda's page but it said it was similar to the #18, which says .480 w/ 1.6 rockers. I know you get total lift by multplying lobe lift by rocker ratio.Taking the1.6ratio anddividinggets mea lobe lift of .300 (is that right?)which would put my car at a lift of .510 with the factory 1.7 rockers. Assuming that's right would that be too much lift for my car using the stock GT-40 heads? I assume it would be a good idea to change the springs/rods but I'm concerned if the valves would hit the pistons or not.
When/If (lol, sure) I upgrade the cam it won't be for a bit as I just got the car and am somewhat short on extra cash but I always like getting info on what's out there for me.

get the high lsa on your camshaft for the sensitive computer and good vaccum for the efi 94/95gt. thats one of the main reasons that makes the steeda #19 work so well in sn95. you can get a better sounding lobe with the 112*. however, they are a pain to get a good idle and tune on the 94/95gt.

The F cam has 114 deg. LSA, but 226 deg. @ .050" and .512" lift. The Steeda #19 doesn't have that much lift with 1.6 rockers, but 1.7's would almost give the lift of an F cam and the manifold vacuum would probably still be decent. My little Ultradyne has 114 deg. LSA (by request), 216 deg. @ .050" and .477" lift. I'm running 1.72 rockers so the lift is around .512". My manifold vacuum is about 17 inches at idle, but I still had to add a chip to get asteady idle speed. The Steeda has some exhaust bias though which should be a good thing. I don't have a split pattern cam. The only others I considered were the Crower 15511 and the Comp XE270HR.
