Default Transmission Troubles

I am currently working on putting in a new clutch. I went to drop the transmission today, this is my first time so please be easy on me(thats what she said) Sorry, couldnt resist. So anyways, I am wondering how many bolts are on the bell housing onto the back of the block. I took off four and that baby wont come off. Also, does anyone have any advice on taking out the tranny w/o dropping it on my head, yea i know, jack and jack stand but if anyone has any more tips that might help, they would really be appreciated. If you feel the need to rip on me 2, go for it. Thanks guys or gals if there are any on here

well its always a good thing to get another person with u...i put the jackstand under it high enough so u can just pull the jackstand and the tranny will slide out...6 bolts for the tranny to the bellhouseing and another 4 for the crossmember...then the driveshat is another 4..the driveshaft might be a little stuck u can GENTLY get a flat head ans try to manuver it from the axle...then u can slide the jackstand and the tranny wil com eout....if not lay underneath it and pull and let it down on ur chest..they arent heavy...and therer are a lot of bolts from the bellhousing to the block
