ok, that needs to be pressed on the axle between the 2 parts of the c-clip eliminator.

Correct. It's the lock ring. Once the bearing is on the axle, that ring gets pressed down on top of the bearing. It's what hold the bearing in place.

How do we know if the pressed ring is in the right place when we press it on, does it go all the way until it stops?
